Preservatives is a type of substance added to products like food , medicine , paint , biological samples , wood , etc to prevent decomposition by the growth of microbes or undesirable chemical change. It’s applicable in two ways , via chemistry and physics . The Chemical way is by adding a chemical compound for products while for physics, it is done by cooling and drying. In the food industry there are additional ingredients that can be found in food ( BTP ) , they are essentially ingredients added to the food to affect the nature or the form of said food. In the classification of the BTP , which is one of 27 other BTPs . There are many rules and regulations regarding the use of preservatives. One of them being Permenkes No. 033 tahun 2012.
